About Us

Pottsville Area Physical Therapy Services (PTS) A Service of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, is an outpatient Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy Practice opened by Joseph Halko and Philip Malloy. Phil and Joe started the practice in 1982 in hopes of providing the Pottsville and surrounding area with quality individualized treatment for all their orthopedic and sports injuries. Early success of providing high quality care warranted an early expansion in 1983, and then finally to its current facility housing 8,160 sq. ft. of treatment space including 9 private treatment rooms, an extensively equipped gym, and aquatic therapy in our Aqua Arc.

All of our therapists are state board certified and licensed to accept both physician's referrals as well as patients with direct access capability. Each therapist strictly adheres to the mandatory continuing education requirements set forth by the APTA. Attending these seminars helps to keep them abreast of the most up to date research and newest rehabilitation treatments.

The clinic also participates in internship training with all of the major Universities and Colleges training future Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants. Our status as clinical instructors also helps to keep the clinic up to date of any new changes in current research and patient care.
